Marilyn Christine Bridges is an American photographer noted for her fine art black and white aerial photographs of extraordinary ancient and modern landscapes. Many of her photos consist of light and dark shades. All of her photographs are black and white so there is already a restriction on colour.  I think her photography is aesthetically pleasing to look at. I feel the black and white bring out a lot of abstract detail in the photos. I think the black and white also set a calm mood to her photography. I feel the colour gets boring to look at after a while.

ISO 6400. 34mm.   This is the picture I chose for differential focus. It is the end of a sulking branch of a tree. My aim was to focus the leaves closest to me and blur the background. In other words have a low depth of field. I think this picture came out really good. The focused part of the plant came out clear. It was isolated in its space and surrounding which probably made it easier to come out with a blur in the background. I had multiple attempts . I had switched to the aperture priority mode on the camera to see what camera the setting would give me for the shutter speed. I then found it easier adjusting the settings in manual mode. I had to lay down on the ground to get this angle. I was trying to get an angle that makes the lines on the floor look like they are leading out to somewhere which I think I achieved in this shot. Photographic Style Reflection

This week I learn about how to define your own style in photography and here are some points I gathered: ◙    Style is always developing. Style can always change with new experiences and new inspirations. Sometimes a current style can become outdated for us which may fuel us to start developing into different styles and ideas. This is perfectly okay. ◙    Listen to what doesn't work. Being honest with who you are is vital in developing one's style. When we are shooting it is important to pay attention to our personality. Our photography shows our personality. What did you like? What don't you like? Is there something that you feel uncomfortable about? Reflect on these things. ◙    Look at other artist's work. It is good to look at other sources for inspiration. There might be something about another artist work and reasoning that you resonate with and could spark a really good idea. Always look for  inspiration. ◙    Take your own journey. Don't rob yourself try
