Photographic Style Reflection

This week I learn about how to define your own style in photography and here are some points I gathered:

◙   Style is always developing. Style can always change with new experiences and new inspirations. Sometimes a current style can become outdated for us which may fuel us to start developing into different styles and ideas. This is perfectly okay.

◙   Listen to what doesn't work. Being honest with who you are is vital in developing one's style. When we are shooting it is important to pay attention to our personality. Our photography shows our personality. What did you like? What don't you like? Is there something that you feel uncomfortable about? Reflect on these things.

◙   Look at other artist's work. It is good to look at other sources for inspiration. There might be something about another artist work and reasoning that you resonate with and could spark a really good idea. Always look for inspiration.

◙   Take your own journey. Don't rob yourself trying to be a copy of someone else. Embrace your likes and dislikes. Be authentic. Everyone is different. It is important to remember that our differences is what makes us unique and stand out.

◙    Shoot a lot. Shooting consistently will help you to develop your style. Not only that, but also improve on your shooting skills. Always pay attention to what you like and what you don't like shooting. Shoot what you enjoy taking pictures of most and do it a lot.
